Kalah

Kalah explores an erased world in deep southeast Asia where concrete and jungle have forged into one. Vines and overgrowth reveal the labyrinth of an abandoned village. A disused basketball court provides shelter as an evacuation area from an active volcano. A 737 mysteriously lies at the base of a limestone quarry.

Using a scrupulous method of capture, matthew’s work looks to alter our view of familiar habitats as conscious retrospections in fine art photography. His creative vision captures a calm and melancholic disposition in the landscape evoking an emotional response from within. Environments are appraised as simple, clean, and graphic impressions, and convoluted vistas are reduced to modest visions of wistful clarity. Purposefully devoid of people and any notable present-day objects, the images appear to have no concept of time. The discernibly banal metamorphosises into a perception of aesthetic beauty.

Matthew’s work has garnered numerous international awards, received recognition in global press, and featured in multiple exhibitions in australia and internationally.

Printing

These beautifully printed giclee prints are made to order with archival quality Ultrachrome pigment-based inks. 100% cotton rag fine art archival stock has been specially chosen to enhance the images’ distinctive appearance. State of the art printers are used to produce fine art gallery prints of the highest standard. All prints come with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

As each print is lovingly made to order, please allow a 1-2 week turnaround, not including delivery. Ensure that the print is opened by a professional framer. Please resist the urge to open your print at home prior to framing as the prints could get damaged. All sizes are limited editions of ten. Prices are subject to change based on the editions sold.
